On July 31, 2016, the Augustinians welcomed ten new friars into the Order (one more joins this August in his home of Japan). This was a significant milestone in their discernment and religious formation.

This step - their profession of simple vows - is step 5 in our 9 steps of the Augustinian Formation Process. From here, nine men will begin studies at Catholic Theological Union in Chicago, a graduate school of theology. One other will continue his formation in California. Our eleventh novice joined the Order after already being ordained a diocesan priest; he will begin serving as one of our newest Augustinian pastors this fall.

We are overjoyed that these men have decided to take this next step in their spiritual journey. By professing their vows of poverty, chastity, and obedience in the Augustinian Order, they are committing themselves to learn more about the consecrated life by following the footsteps of Saint Augustine.
