Schedule for 2019 Vocations Awareness Week

VOCATION AWARENESS WEEK – NOVEMBER 10-17, 2019

AUGUSTINIAN PROVINCE OF ST. THOMAS OF VILLANOVA

(Note: Due to logistics, “the week” includes events that span the 6th to the 21st)


Wednesday, November 6th

Early kick-off of the week, with Fr. Joe Narog, O.S.A., Province Vocation Director, visiting Malvern Prep in Malvern, PA. Will include a school-wide Mass at which Fr. Joe will preside and preach. In the Augustinian calendar this day is the Commemoration of the Deceased Members of the Order.


Saturday, November 9th and Sunday, November 10th

At St. Thomas of Villanova Parish in Rosemont, PA, Br. Jeremy Hiers, O.S.A., a student in formation, who’s serving his pastoral year in the parish, will share his vocation story at all the Masses: Saturday, the 9th – 5pm Vigil in the Rosemont Chapel; Sunday, the 10th – 7:30am & 10:30am in the Villanova Church; and Sunday, the 10th – 9am in the Rosemont Chapel. Fr. Joe Narog, O.S.A. will preside at the 10:30am Mass; it will be live streamed on the Province website. Informational tables will be set up at both locations. (Open to everyone)


At Villanova University, Mr. Joe Barowski, a graduate of the University and a student in his initial year of Augustinian formation, will share his vocation story at all the Sunday evening Masses on the 10th: 5pm, 7pm, and 9pm. Fr. Joe Narog, O.S.A. will preside at the 5pm and 9pm; Fr. Keith Hollis, O.S.A., a member of Campus Ministry, will preside at the 7pm. An informational table will be set up in the Church. (Open to everyone)


The Augustinian Vocation Office, located behind the Villanova Church on the Villanova University campus, will host an Open House on Sunday evening, November 10th, immediately following the 5pm Mass and concluding after the 9pm Mass. (Open to everyone)


Monday, November 11th

An “Augustinian Retreat in Everyday Life” will run from Monday, the 11th through Friday, the 15th on the Villanova University campus. Friars will meet with retreatants (students, faculty, and staff who’ve registered) for a 30-minute session on 3 separate days.


Tuesday, November 12th

Fr. Joe Narog, O.S.A. will attend a dinner with friars and students at St. Augustine Prep in Vineland, NJ.


Wednesday, November 13th

As part of St. Augustine Prep’s 60th anniversary year, Fr. Joe will preside and preach at a school-wide Mass, celebrating the Feast of All Saints of the Augustinian Order and the birthday of St. Augustine. Br. Jeremy Hiers will join Fr. Joe in this visit to the Prep.


Solemn Evening Prayer will be held in Corr Chapel at 7:30pm on the Villanova University campus to commemorate the Feast of All Saints of the Augustinian Order and the birth of St. Augustine. Cake will be served, following prayer, in Corr Hall Lounge. (Open to everyone)


Saturday, November 16th and Sunday, November 17th

At St. Augustine Parish in Andover, MA, Fr. Joe Narog, O.S.A. will preach at the weekend Masses:


Saturday, the 16th – 4pm Vigil; Sunday, the 17th – 8am; 9:30am; 11:30am; and 5:30pm. (Open to everyone)


There also will be a Youth Prayer Experience in St. Augustine Church on Sunday, the 17th at 3:30pm.


At Merrimack College, North Andover, MA, Fr. Joe Narog, O.S.A. will be presiding and preaching on Sunday, November 17th at the 7:30pm Mass in Austin Hall Chapel. (Open to everyone)


Monday, November 18th

Austin Prep in Reading, MA is hosting “Share Our Augustinian Heritage” at 7pm for St. Augustine Parish Grade School (Andover, MA) parents and students. This will include Dinner and a Talk by Headmaster, Dr. James Hickey, Ph.D. Fr. Joe Narog, O.S.A. will be attending as part of his visit to Austin Prep.

Tuesday, November 19th

Fr. Joe Narog, O.S.A. will visit Austin Prep, to include presiding and preaching at a school-wide Mass.


Thursday, November 21st

At St. Thomas of Villanova Parish in Rosemont, PA, Fr. Joe Narog, O.S.A. will be presiding and preaching at the Men’s Gathering 6:30am Mass in the Rosemont Chapel. This will be followed by fellowship in the Rosemont Auditorium, with Mr. Jim White and Mr. Joe Barowski, students in Augustinian formation, sharing their vocation stories. (Open to men in and outside the parish)
